| Customer Reviews: Perfect fit, does exactly what it's supposed to do August 30, 2010 yetisaurus I'm just getting back in the pool after a decade (or more) of not training at all. Uphill battle, to be sure. This pull buoy is perfect, and it's helping me re-train my upper body to swim properly. It's exceedingly comfortable (much more comfortable than the styrofoam barbells that I was using as pull buoys before this one arrived in the mail), and it provides the right amount of flotation. Get one; you won't regret it.
Speedo Pull Buoy Royal/Grey July 6, 2010 Heywood Jablomee Much more comfortable than the buoys held together by rope. It doesn't contour to your thighs like rope buoys, so some people may have issues with not one size fitting all. If you're serious about your upper body workout in the pool then a pull buoy is a must. As a former competitive swimmer I can attest to the fact that a pull buoy is an essential tool for training.
Training essential for me! June 14, 2010 DWales (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this Pull Buoy mainly for working on my upper body strength and while improving my swim strokes, in my pool. Using this pull buoy allows me to isolate the work to only my upper body while keeping my lower body comfortably still. While I was deciding which brand to purchase, I decided I really liked the design and available color choices of this particular Speedo buoy. As I have always been very pleased with the Speedo line of products, my decision was finally made to give this item a try. I am pleased to recommend this Speedo Pull Buoy and have enjoyed adding this item to my daily pool fitness workouts.
First thoughts with product and after 1st use:
* Quality feel and materials. Attractive design
* Good color choice available which coordinate with other Speedo training products
* Extremely comfortable to use
* One end is slightly larger than the other, allowing for customizable fit/buoyancy
* Good amount of buoyancy but not too much
* VERY light weight, makes traveling easy
After using this pull buoy, I am very pleased. I was able to relax my lower body in a fixed line and focus strictly on my form. I really got a good workout and felt that I began to make immediate improvement in my swim strokes. The buoy fits comfortably between the legs allowing you to relax and focus on your arm strokes. One end of the buoy is slightly larger than the other end which changes how much buoyancy you have. I am a 5'3 woman, average weight and preferred the smaller end up while swimming. Perfect amount of buoyancy and a good fit. My husband (5'11) was also comfortable using this buoy. This is one of those products I now consider essential for my workouts. Like most of the Speedo training equipment, this buoy is very lightweight and easy to carry around. Color coordinates with other Speedo products. I purchased the pink/gray version and the colors are quite nice without being too flashy. Tastefully done.
If you are looking for a fun way to exercise, cross-train during these hot summer months, or really focus on arm workouts while improving your strokes, this pull buoy is a good investment. Speedo has lived up to their good name in this well designed and very attractive pull buoy. Highly recommended. NOTE: I will add to this review in the fall, with an update on how this pull buoy holds up to daily use throughout this Florida summer.
My favorite buoy October 17, 2009 J. L. Smith 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
For pulling this buoy works great. The shape and material is slightly different than the buoy I had been using, but I definitely prefer this one.
